[KB7568] Error message “Incompatible Software : PGP” displayed in ESET Endpoint Encryption

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

  • You receive the error message “Incompatible Software : PGP” even though PGP was removed
  • Users with ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE), Full Disk Encryption (FDE) and a current or previously installed PGP encryption may receive one of the errors below:

Solution

ESET Endpoint Encryption checks for the PGPwded driver. The PGP encryption must be fully uninstalled to resolve the error. 

  1. Follow the steps on the PGP site for complete uninstallation steps.

  2. When the PGP is fully uninstalled, managed users must refresh the workstation record before starting encryption again.
