[KB6519] Exclude an application by name from scanning in ESET Windows home products


  • You need to exclude an application from scanning using the application name


  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.
Identify the application
  • Before proceeding, you will need to identify the name of the application that you are excluding. The application will be detected by your ESET product.
  • For example, a Potentially unwanted application (PUA); Therefore, the application name will be referred to as the detection name in this article.

    2. To find the exact detection name, find the log file that contains the detection you want to exclude and copy the detection name from the Detection column.

  1. Press the F5 key to open Advanced Setup.

  2. Click Detection Engine, expand Exclusions, and click Edit next to Detection exclusions.

  1. Click Add.

  2. Add the Detection by selecting the Path or by entering the Hash or Detection name. Click here for more information on the different exclusion types.

  1. Click OK → OKOK to save your changes and exit Advanced setup. The application is now excluded from scanning.
