[KB7936] Remove or add a port used by HTTP protocol in Web access protection in ESET Endpoint Security and ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Mac

Issue

  • You want Web access protection to protect certain HTTP ports other than 80, 8080, and 3128, which are selected by default

Details

ESET Endpoint Security and ESET Endpoint Antivirus for Mac are not able to scan HTTPS protocol. When scanning port 443, ESET products for Mac are unable to scan data on the website. You can exclude HTTPS pages based on their URL address.

Solution

  1. Open your ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Antivirus product for Mac.

  2. Click Setup.

  3. Click Web and Email.

  4. Click Setup next to Web access protection.

  5. In the Ports used by HTTP protocol field, type the new ports used by the HTTP protocol that you want Web access protection to control. Ports are divided by commas. To remove a port controlled by Web access protection, delete it from the list.
