Introdução

O propósito deste documento é explicar as políticas do fim do ciclo de vida e do suporte relacionadas aos produtos ESET, além das políticas que seguimos para o suporte de vários sistemas operacionais. 
O documento deve servir como fonte de informação para os clientes corporativos da ESET, para quem uma política clara e previsível das políticas de EOL pode contribuir significativamente para o planejamento efetivo da segurança IT. Acreditamos que este documento irá ajudar as organizações a manter atualizadas suas políticas, evitando interrupções para a continuidade do negócio. 
Esta política de Fim do ciclo de vida foi inspirada pelas melhores práticas da indústria, além dos padrões aceitos por nossos clientes. As políticas são aplicadas a todos os produtos e versões, respeitando os compromissos assumidos no passado com nossos clientes. Definimos categorias de produto e políticas de suporte adequadas para cada uma delas; também é possível encontrar informação sobre como funciona a atribuição de números de versão e explicações sobre os estados do ciclo de vida do produto.
Estamos conscientes de que qualquer transição pode ser complexa, especialmente em um ambiente empresarial. Por isso, desde o momento em que nossa nova política entra em vigor estabelecemos um período de transição de um ano durante o qual as versões de produto afetadas pela passagem desde o nível de suporte básico/limitado no estado atual de EOL como resultado da nova política continuará recebendo atualizações de módulos (incluindo atualizações da base de dados de assinaturas de vírus). O suporte básico de fato só garante atualizações da base de assinaturas de vírus. Iremos garantir a continuação do envio junto às atualizações de módulos aos produtos com suporte finalizado durante o período de transição As versões de produto que normalmente fariam a transição para a fase de EOL durante este período contarão com o mesmo benefício.

Regras de versões

A ESET segue o padrão da indústria para a construção do número de versões. Veja abaixo um exemplo para reconhecer o significado de cada número incluído na versão do produto:

Diferenciador adicional (por exemplo, versão do idioma)
  • Versão principal -> Migrar para uma versão superior geralmente implica em uma revisão maior do produto, mudanças na arquitetura ou encerramento do suporte para alguma das versões prévias do sistema operacional.
  • Versão menor -> O incremento neste número se refere a correções menores ou pequenas mudanças na funcionalidade em relação à versão anterior.
  • Número de versão/Nível do patch (hotfix) -> Correção automática para bugs críticos e vulnerabilidades. Não há mudanças de nenhum tipo do ponto de vista das funcionalidades.

Ciclo de vida do produto

Naturalmente, cada um de nossos produtos está em uma etapa específica, do seu ciclo de vida. Com o objetivo de definir uma política de EOL decidimos categorizá-los nos seguintes grupos:

  1. Produtos em desenvolvimento ativo
    Esses produtos se encontram nas etapas primárias ou médias do seu ciclo de vida e nosso objetivo é desenvolvê-los e publicá-los nos seguintes anos. Regularmente são submetidos ao processo de fim de versão para versões anteriores do produto (cada vez que uma versão principal é lançada). Também existe um procedimento para permitir um período estendido de suporte limitado para certas versões do produto – para obter maiores precisões, contate a revenda autorizada pela ESET.

  2. Produtos em manutenção
    Esses produtos se encontram em um estado de maturidade alto e a ESET simplesmente os mantém. O desenvolvimento de novas funcionalidades não é aplicado. Os produtos/serviços em manutenção geralmente se encontram em fase de suporte limitado estendido.

     

  3. Produtos a serem descontinuados
    Esses produtos não foram desenvolvidos ou melhorados em nenhum aspecto por muito tempo, e não representam um objetivo estratégico ou comercial. Estão marcados com um procedimento interno de descontinuação do produto, que resulta no Fim do ciclo de vida completa do produto.

     

Níveis de suporte

Esses são os níveis gerais de suporte para os produtos e serviços ESET. Para sua aplicação em produtos e versões particulares, leia a versão dedicada a este respeito.

 

  • Suporte completo
    Este conceito é aceito dentro da indústria como a disposição dos maiores esforços dedicados aos clientes para solucionar todos os bugs e oferecer uma funcionalidade completa. Além disso, oferecemos assistência de ampla gama. Todas as versões futuras dos sistemas operacionais terão suporte a menos que exista um inconveniente externo maior que impeça sua solução apesar de um esforço razoável.
  • Suporte limitado
    O alcance é relativamente pequeno e por isso se deve prestar atenção ao tipo de suporte que pode ser solicitado para cada categoria de produto.
  • Fim do ciclo de vida
    Neste estado do ciclo de vida do produto não oferecemos suporte ou assistência de nenhum tipo e não garantimos seu funcionamento. O máximo que a equipe de suporte pode oferecer para o usuário é o procedimento de migração mais apropriado para que possa utilizar a versão com suporte do produto equivalente
