ESET continues its transition to a subscription-based model and updates the terminology used across the products and services to ensure consistency in the communication with customers.
These changes are designed to create a more unified experience across all platforms and touchpoints, helping users better understand ESET offerings.
You will start seeing updated terminology across your ESET product interface, email communications, and on our support and e-commerce websites throughout 2025 and 2026.
- No action is required.
- The only noticeable update is a change in terminology (for example, the term "License" may now be referred to as "Subscription"). This update does not impact product performance or your existing setup. Fragments of subscription-related terminology changes will be noticeable as well in earlier versions of endpoint applications – in logs, notifications and text responses to user actions.
- Your current activation keys and protection settings remain unchanged.
- All security products will continue to function as expected.

* A "product" refers to what ESET sells to the customer (such as a protection tier). Unlike an application, a product cannot be installed and does not have a version.
