[KB8064] Change the Full Disk Encryption password on an ESET Endpoint Encryption standalone workstation

Issue

ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE) Client and EEE Server are separate products from ESET Full Disk Encryption (EFDE)

The article below applies only to the EEE Client or EEE Server and not EFDE.

  • You need to change the Full Disk Encryption (FDE) password on your standalone ESET Endpoint Encryption product

Solution

Admin password

To change the password, users will require the Admin password file for the system. This file was created when the system was originally encrypted. 

  1. Log in to ESET Endpoint Encryption (EEE).

  2. Right-click the ESET Endpoint Encryption icon in the system tray.

  3. Click Full Disk Encryption and click Full Disk Encryption

  1. If prompted click Yes on the User Account Control (UAC) warning. Click Manage Users.

  1. Select the user account you want to change and click Remove.

  1. Type the Admin password and click OK.

  1. From the User Management window, click Add.

  1. Type a new Username and Password for the new user. Type the Admin password and click OK.

Maximum user accounts in FDE

EEE workstations allow up to 126 FDE user accounts as well as an additional account reserved for an admin user.

 
  1. Click OK

  1. In the User Management window, click Close. The next time you restart the machine the new user credentials can be used to start the system.
