Configure ESET Windows home products for use with a dial-up internet connection

By default, your ESET Windows home product will automatically attempt to download detection engine/modules updates several times per day. If you use a dial-up internet connection, you may receive continuous error messages regarding failed detection engine/modules updates. Your computer may also automatically attempt to connect to the internet. To prevent this, disable the regular automatic update task using the scheduler feature.

To configure your ESET product to download the latest detection engine/modules updates only when a dial-up connection has been established:

  1. Open the main program window of your Windows ESET product.

  2. Click Tools More tools.
