Solution

Only enable Windows Installer (MSI) logging if instructed by a member of our support team to diagnose a specific installation issue.

  1. Visit this Microsoft article to Manually enable Windows Installer logging.

  2. Re-create the installation issue you are experiencing.

  3. To disable Windows Installer logging, remove the created keys and subkeys.

  4. To obtain the log file, press the Windows  key + R.

  5. In the Run window, in the Open field, enter %temp% and click OK.

  6. Explorer will show the contents of the temporary folder. Locate the .log extension MSI file created during installation.

  7. Compress a copy of the .log file and attach the .zip to your support ticket.
