ESET Security Management Center 7 and Microsoft Azure:

ESET Security Management Center (ESMC) 7 is compatible with Microsoft Azure. You can install ESMC 7 in Azure by following the steps in this article and using the ESMC 7 All-in-one installer.

Alternatively, you can install ERA 6.x in Azure and then upgrade it to ESMC 7.

Prerequisites required to deploy and install ERA VM for Microsoft Azure

Complete each prerequisite before deploying and installing:

  1. Log in to your Microsoft Azure account. You can access the Azure portal at http://portal.azure.com/.

  2. Search for ESET Remote Administrator in the Azure Marketplace.

Your VM must have a public DNS record

Your VM must have a public DNS record or fixed public IP address. Failure to use a public DNS or fixed IP can prevent your endpoints from connecting to ESET Remote Administrator.

  1. Download the RDP file and connect to your VM.

  2. After connecting to your VM, ESET Remote Administrator Setup will appear. Choose a Language for ESET Remote Administrator and click Next to continue installation.

    Install later

If you accidentally closed the setup window, or you want to install later, run the installation from Command Prompt using the following command:
    C:\ERASetup\Bootstrapper\Setup.exe --mode azure

  1. Review the End-user license agreement and click Next.

  2. Click Install.

  1. Create a Certificate Authority for ESET Remote Administrator. Optionally, specify additional information about the certificate (this is not mandatory). You can type your name or your server hostname (for example yourCustomName.westus.cloudapp.azure.com) to the Authority common name field. You can leave the Authority password field empty. However, if you choose to enter a password, be sure to remember it. Click Next.

Opening ESET Remote Administrator Web Console remotely

Web Console can be accessed from anywhere using the IP address, or if you have purchased an Azure DNS entry, its DNS address associated with your web ERA Server URL (for example, https://yourCustomName.westus.cloudapp.azure.com/era/).

A self-signed certificate may not be accepted by your web browser so you will need to add an exception for this SSL certificate.

If you want to use your own trusted certificate, or a certificate signed by any CA, follow the instructions from the article below:

  1. Once you are able to log in to ERA Web Console with the password you created in step 12, ESET Remote Administrator is installed successfully. See Getting to know ERA Web Console for instructions to begin using ERA.

With ERA Server successfully installed, the next step in deployment is to locate client computers and deploy the ERA Agent to client computers using, for example, the Agent Live Installers method. Remember to select the correct VM hostname in the Server hostname (optional) field as shown in the image below:
