[KB5679] How do I block a fake alert website?

• You have navigated to a website that appears to be a fake virus alert page.

Please submit any fake virus alert websites you encounter to ESET. Reporting such sites helps us provide the best protection for all ESET users. To submit a fake virus alert website to ESET, contact technical support. If at all possible, please include a screenshot of your full browser window and the full website URL. How do I take a screenshot?

Follow the steps below to eliminate fake virus alerts:

1. Restart your computer and reopen the affected web browser. If prompted, do not restore your previous browsing session.
2. If the fake alert attack persists, press CTRL + Shift + ESC.
   Windows 8 or 10 users: In the Task Manager window, click More details.
3. Select the affected web browser application and click End task.
4. Reopen your web browser and quickly close the browser. You must close the window during the loading process to prevent the web browser from restoring the fake alert web page.

You should no longer experience the fake virus alert.
