[KB7920] Create a scheduled scan on client workstations using ESET PROTECT (8.x – 9.x)

Issue

  • Create a scheduled scan for multiple client workstations in a network environment
  • Create a scheduled scan in ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Endpoint Antivirus

Solution

Required user permissions

This article assumes that you have the appropriate access rights and permissions to perform the tasks below.

If you use the default Administrator user or are unable to perform the tasks below (the option is unavailable), create a second administrator user with all access rights.

 Endpoint users: Perform these steps on individual client workstations

  1. Open ESET PROTECT On-Prem in your web browser and log in.

  2. Click Policies, select the desired Policy, and then select your policy name. Click Actions and click Edit

  1. Click Settings  Tools, then expand Scheduler and click Edit.

  1. Type a name for your task into the Task name field, select On-demand computer scan from the drop-down menu and then click Next.

  1. Select your desired frequency for the new task and click Next.

  1. Set your desired time of execution (we recommend that you set a time when the computer is powered on during non-business hours), select the check boxes for each day that you want the task to run, and then click Next.

  1. Select Immediately, if time since last scheduled run exceeds (hours). Set the value to 24 and click Next.

  1. Select In-depth scan from the Scan profile drop-down menu and click Finish.

  1. Select the check box next to Regular scan and click Save

  1. Confirm that the policy has been assigned.

  2. Click Finish.
