[KB3239] Uninstall or reinstall ESET Cyber Security or ESET Cyber Security Pro

Issue

To view instructions for an operating system other than macOS, choose the appropriate operating system below:

Windows Users | Android Users

Solution

  1. Click Finder Applications. Right-click ESET Cyber Security or ESET Cyber Security Pro and click Show Package Contents.

  2. Expand Contents → Helpers and then double-click Uninstaller.

  3. Click Uninstall in the ESET Cyber Security Setup window. You may be asked to use your password to continue with the uninstallation.

  4. Click OK to allow ESET Cyber Security to control the Finder.app for the uninstallation.

  5. You may be prompted to confirm the removal of system extensions. Click Continue to remove system extensions.

  6. Use touch ID or a password if you want to move the ESET Cyber Security installation file to the Bin.

  7. Click Close in the Uninstallation completed successfully window.

  8. Your ESET product should be completely removed from your computer.
About upgrading

If you are upgrading from ESET Cyber Security to a later version of ESET Cyber Security or ESET Cyber Security Pro, follow the instructions to download, install and activate ESET Cyber Security or ESET Cyber Security Pro.

Uninstall your ESET product using the ESET Cyber Security .dmg

  1. Open the install package.

  2. Double-click the Uninstall icon and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall ESET Cyber Security.

If you receive "Identity of the installer cannot be confirmed"

If the installation of ESET products is being blocked, hold CTRL + click (or right-click if you have a two-button mouse) the installer file, select Open from the context menu and then click Open when you are prompted by Apple gatekeeper.   1. Click Close to exit the uninstaller.
