[KB3218] Add an IP address to the trusted zone in ESET Windows home products (15.x–16.x)

Issue

  • You are unable to connect to (or from) another computer or device, such as a printer on your network
  • Add an IP address or a range of IP addresses to the trusted list in your ESET product
  • I have ESET NOD32 Antivirus

This article is part of a series of recommended steps to troubleshoot firewall issues. Start with step 1.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Press the F5 key to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click Network Protection, expand Zones and click Edit next to Zones.

  1. Select Trusted zone and click Edit.

  2. Type the IP address or subnet of the trusted device in the Remote computer address (IPv4, IPv6, range, mask) field and click OK to save your changes.

    Only add safe IP addresses to the trusted zone

    You should only add an IP address to the trusted zone if you know that it is safe.

  3. Ensure that the IP addresses that you just added to the trusted zone are visible in the Trusted zone row. Click OK → OK to exit Advanced setup.
