What do I need to do after renewing my license? (business users)
- Steps to take after renewing ESET server and/or endpoint products
In most cases, no action is needed after renewing your ESET license.
If you are using ESET Remote administrator 5.x or ESET Mail/File Security 4.x, you will need to upload your new license file into your ESET product after renewing. See the common scenarios below for more information.
You will be upgrading to version 6 business products
Version 6 business products require a License Key during activation (as opposed to the ESET-issued Username and Password required for activating version 5.x and earlier products). This License Key was sent to you after you renewed your license. If you do not have your License Key, you can convert an existing Username and Password for use in version 6 business products.
You will continue using version 5.x and earlier business products
Version 5.x and earlier business products require an ESET-issued Username and Password during activation (as opposed to the ESET-issued License Key require for activating version 6 business products). This Username and Password combination was sent to you after your renewed your license. If you do not have your Username and password, you can recover them here.
You use ESET Remote Administrator to distribute updates to client workstations
After renewing your license, upload your updated license (.lic) file into the ESET Remote Administrator Console (ERAC) and then change your ERA username and password. For Instructions, see the following Knowledgebase article:
You use an ESET endpoint product as a mirror for distributing updates to other client workstations
After purchasing your renewal license, upload your updated license (.lic) file on the client workstation(s) serving as a mirror:
You use ESET server solutions (ESET Mail, Gateway or File Security) for Linux/BSD/Solaris to manage your network
You use ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Kerio, IBM Lotus Domino or Novell Netware
