ESET is blocking a website I know to be safe—how do I exclude it? (5.x)

A new version has been released

Version 6 of ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) and ESET business products were released in North America December 11th, 2014, and globally February 25th, 2015. If you do not use ESET Remote Administrator to manage your network

Perform these steps on individual client workstations.

Exclude a website using Policy Manager in ESET Remote Administrator

  1. Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console by clicking Start  → All programs  → ESET → ESET Remote Administrator ConsoleESET Remote Administrator Console.
  2. Click ToolsPolicy Manager.
  3. Select the server policy that you want to modify and click Edit.

  4. Expand Windows desktop v5Personal firewallSettings Web access protection, select HTTP address management: : See dialog and then click Edit.

  5. Select List of addresses excluded from filtering from the List drop-down menu.
  6. Click Add, type the HTTP address or domain you want to exclude into the Address field and then click OK.

  7. Click OK to exit the HTTP address management window.
  8. Click ConsoleYes to save your changes to the policy.
  9. Click OK to close Policy Manager

Exclude websites on individual client workstation

  1. Open the main program window by double-clicking the ESET icon  in your Windows notification area or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Endpoint Antivirus.
  2. Press the F5 key to open the Advanced setup window.
  3. Expand Web and email Web access protection, click URL address management and then select List of addresses excluded from filtering from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Add, type the website or domain you want excluded in the Enter a mask for URL address field and click OK.


    For each website you add, be sure to either include "www." or a wildcard "*" symbol, as in "" or "*".

  5. Click OK to save your changes and exit the Advanced Setup window.
