[KB294] Possible error messages when remotely installing ESET NOD32 Antivirus on Windows XP

Any error message that you experience is likely due to one or more of the following problems:

Error message: "Could not set up IPC connection to target computer (SC error code 6, GLE error code 1326)"

The option “Use Simple File Sharing” is enabled.
Windows XP Home Edition

Since Windows XP Home Edition does not support disabling Simple File Sharing, remote installation to this platform is unavailable.

  1. Click StartMy Computer.

  2. Click ToolsFolder Options.

  3. In the View tab, deselect Use simple file sharing.


Error message: "Could not set up IPC connection to target computer (SC error code 6, GLE error code 53)"

Windows XP system firewall is turned on.

  1. Click StartControl Panel.

  2. Click Windows Firewall.

  3. In the Exceptions tab, select File and Printer Sharing.


Error message: "Could not set up IPC connection to target computer (SC error code 6, GLE error code 1327)"

A user account that is being used to authorize access for the Windows XP workstation has no password.

To authorize access to the workstation where ESET NOD32 Antivirus is to be installed remotely, create a new user account with a password, or assign a password to the existing user account.
