Details

Keeping the modules updated is an important part of obtaining the maximum level of security and protection. By default, your ESET product checks for updates every hour and downloads new updates when available (typically 2–3 times a day). However, you can configure your settings to disable automatic updates.

Solution

Disabling automatic updates is strongly discouraged and can leave your computer at risk

If you disable automatic updates, we recommend you configure an update task to run at least daily (click Tools → SchedulerAdd task, select Update from the Task type drop-down menu and click Next to configure), or manually check for updates often (click Update → Check for updates).

Version 16.0 or earlier users: Click ToolsMore tools → Scheduler and follow the instructions above to configure an update task to run at least daily.

  1. Open the main program window of your ESET Windows product.

  2. Click Tools → Scheduler.

Version 16.0 or earlier: Click ToolsMore tools → Scheduler.
