Issue
- You receive the message 'Error code 2350' when installing ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32
- You receive the message "The cabinet file 'modules cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used" when installing ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32
Solution
Follow the instructions below to resolve this issue and continue your installation. Begin with Solution 1 and only proceed to Solution 2 if the issue persists.
Solution 1: Download a new ESET installation package

Download the ESET installation package for your ESET security product from the ESET Download Center or by clicking one of the links below and clicking Save when prompted and saving the file to your Desktop:
ESET NOD32 Antivirus: ESET Smart Security: - After you have saved the file to your computer, locate and double-click it to re-try the installation process.
If you receive the same error message, the Windows Installer service may need to be re-registered. Please proceed to Solution 2.
Solution 2: Re-register the Windows Installer service
The Windows Installer service adds, modifies and removes any applications that are provided as an .msi package. To fix the registration entry for the Windows Installer, follow the steps below.
- Click Start → Run and then type cmd and press ENTER.

Enter the following commands, pressing ENTER after each one:
MSIExec /unregister
MSIExec /regserver
- Restart your computer.

Install your ESET security product using the steps in Solution 1 above.
Troubleshooting
If you receive the same error message, the Windows Installer service could be corrupted. Please see the following Microsoft knowledge Base article for assistance in repairing or reinstalling the Windows Installer service: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315346.
