The current version of ESET Server Security for Linux:  10.0.328.0

After purchasing or renewing a license for ESET Server Security for Linux, you will receive an email containing your License Key.

To download, unpack, install, and configure ESET Server Security for Linux, follow the steps below:

Download ESET Server Security for Linux

  1. Download the installation package for the latest version of ESET Server Security for Linux.

  2. Before the installation, verify that you do not have a different ESET security product or any other antivirus software installed on your computer. If yes, uninstall this software from your computer.


Install ESET Server Security for Linux via Terminal

Installer without unnecessary modules 

Since version 10, the ESET Server Security for Linux installation package contains only essential modules. ESET Server Security for Linux is only partially functional after the installation.

To have a fully functional product, you need to either:

The product is fully functional after the upgrade if the previous version was activated and had all modules.

ESET Server Security Error on the cleanly installed machine

As in ESET Server Security for Linux 10.x and later, the installer contains only critical modules in the package. Due to this, the error "ESET Server Security Error: Cannot connect to /var/run/eset/efs/odscand.sock” will appear on the cleanly installed machine.

This is not an installation error but an error shown in the logs.

  1. Use one of the following commands to run the ESET distribution script with root privileges for the appropriate operating system distribution you have, and follow the on-screen instructions:

    Gain .deb or .rpm installation package

    To gain .deb or .rpm installation package suitable for your operating system, run ESET distribution script with -n command line argument:

    sudo ./efs.x86_64.bin -n
    or
    sudo sh ./efs.x86_64.bin -n
    ./efs.x86_64.bin
    sh ./efs.x86_64.bin
  2. Import your ESET license file to activate your ESET Server Security for Linux.

  3. To see the dependencies of the installation package, run one of the following commands:

    dpkg -I <deb package>
    rpm -qRp <rpm package>
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions. After you accept the product License Agreement, the installation will complete and display the Web interface login details.

    The installer will inform you of any dependency problems.

Install ESET Server Security for Linux via ESET PROTECT On-Prem or ESET PROTECT

To deploy ESET Server Security for Linux remotely on your computers, see ESET PROTECT On-Prem Software Install or ESET PROTECT Software Install Online Help section.

If needed, enable the Web interface remotely.


Activate ESET Server Security for Linux

Activate ESET Server Security for Linux to enable regular updates of detection modules.
