Issue

• You have issues with email functionality in ESET home and small office products for Windows
• Difficulty sending or receiving email
• ESET Antispam issues

Solution

Difficulty sending or receiving email

• I can receive incoming emails but cannot send outgoing emails.

To resolve this issue, modify email filtering to avoid conflicts.

• Immediately after installing my ESET home or small office product for Windows, I can no longer send or receive email.

  To resolve this issue, modify the behavior of the ESET Personal firewall to allow email traffic.

• My email stopped working after I installed my ESET product on a computer that already had another antivirus or an antispam program installed on it.

  To resolve this issue:

1. 1. Uninstall your ESET product.

   2. Uninstall the third-party software.

   3. Reinstall your ESET product

• I am using a non-standard email client and my ESET product seems to be blocking my email traffic.

  To resolve this issue:

1. 1. Open the main program window of ESET Windows products.

   2. Click Setup → Internet protection and click the toggle next to Email client protection to disable it.

   3. Select the time period from the drop-down menu and click Apply.

   4. If prompted by the User account control dialog window, click Yes.

   5. The Email client protection is now disabled. Verify if this helps to resolve your issue with a non-standard email client. We recommend enabling Email client protection again after you are finished working with your email client.

• I receive emails with blank email bodies.

  To resolve this issue, update your product to the latest version. If you have an existing subscription, you can upgrade for free.

ESET Antispam issues

• The ESET Antispam Toolbar does not appear in my email client. 

  Check to see that the email client and version you are using are compatible with ESET.

• I want to remove the ESET Antispam Toolbar from my email client.

  Add or remove the ESET Antispam toolbar from email clients.

• I cannot find messages that the ESET Antispam module is marking as spam. Where are they being sent?

  Choose where ESET stores messages flagged as spam. 

• How do I tell the Antispam module which email addresses are trusted (Whitelist) contacts and which ones are known spam sources (Blacklist)?

  Add and modify the Whitelist and Blacklist that your ESET Antispam module uses to protect you from spam while allowing trusted email. You can also export or import Whitelist and Blacklist.

• My ESET Antispam module adds an unwanted note to my incoming and/or outgoing mail that says the message has been scanned.

  Configure or disable the scanned message tag that appears at the end of emails that your ESET product has scanned.

If the solutions above did not resolve your email issue, it is possible, but not recommended, to disable the ESET Antispam module.
