Change your Username slightly. In the example (see Figure 1-3) the Username has been changed to EAV-555555555. Click OK. Activation will fail.
Press CTRL + U on your keyboard.
Enter your Username and Password correctly and click OK. Your product should now be activated.
To verify activation, make sure that you see the words Product activated under 'Product activation' in the Update module and can download the latest virus signature database. If the issue is not resolved, proceed to solution 2.
Solution 2: Clear update cache and proxy settings
Press F5 on your keyboard to access Advanced setup. Expand Update, click Settings ( in Versions 6 and earlier click Update) and then click Default.
Select Revert only "Settings" settings to defaults (in Version 6 and earlier, select Revert only "Update" settings to defaults) and click Yes.
Click Clear next to Clear update cache.
Click Setup. In the HTTP Proxy tab, select Do not use proxy server and then click OK.
Enter your Username and Password and click OK. Bookmark this article and restart your computer for your changes to take effect.
Once your computer has restarted, open ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus (How do I open my ESET product?). Click Update → Update now. Enter your Password if prompted. Your product should now be activated.
To verify activation, click Help and support and verify that the date next to License valid until is 12 months after the date of your product purchase.
