[KB7958] Enable endpoint Document Protection using ESET PROTECT (8.x–10.x)

Issue

  • Blank emails / Microsoft Word documents being sent out as a result of TrojanDownloader.VBS.Agent infection

Solution

 Endpoint users: Perform these steps on individual client workstations

Disabled by default

Document Protection is disabled by default. In most cases, this feature does not need to be enabled.

  1. Open ESET PROTECT On-Prem in your web browser and log in.

  2. Click Policies, select the check box next to the desired Built-in policy and then select the policy that you want to modify.

  3. Click Actions Edit.

  4. Click Settings → Detection Engine → Malware Scans.

  5. Expand Document Protection, and then click the toggle next to Enable Document protection to enable it.

  6. Expand ThreatSense Parameters. From the Cleaning level drop-down menu, select Always remedy detection, then click Finish.
