Computers with less than 1,000 MB free disk space

If you want to upgrade the ESET security software on computers managed via ESET PROTECT, you need to make sure there is enough free space on computer disk. To create a Dynamic Group Template that filters all computers with less than 1,000 MB of free disk space:

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.

  2. In ESET PROTECT click More Dynamic Group TemplatesNew Template.

  3. In the Basic section, type a Name. Optionally, enter a Description for the new Dynamic Group Template.

  4. Click Expression, click the Operation dropdown and select AND (All conditions have to be true). Click Add Rule.

  5. Expand Storage devices capacity, select Free space [MB] and then click OK.

  6. Select the operator: <= (less or equal), and type 1000. Click Add Rule.

  7. Expand Storage devices capacity, select Free space [MB] and then click OK.

  8. Select the operator: > (greater than) and type 0 (zero). This filter excludes devices that report zero storage capacity, such as CD/DVD ROMs. Click Add Rule.

  9. Expand Storage devices capacity, select Storage Id and then click OK.

  10. Select the operator: has prefix and type C. This filter includes only system disks (labeled C by default) and excludes other storage drives, for example, connected USB drives.

  1. Click Continue to see the Dynamic Group Template Summary. Click Finish to create the Dynamic Group Template.

 


Computers with less than 2 GB RAM

To create a Dynamic Group Template for computers with less than 2GB of RAM:

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.


  2. In ESET PROTECT click More Dynamic Group TemplatesNew Template.

  3. In the Basic section, type a Name. Optionally, enter a Description for the new Dynamic Group Template.

  4. Click Expression, click Operation dropdown and select AND (All conditions have to be true). Click Add Rule.

  5. Expand HW inventory/RAM, select Capacity [MB] and then click OK.

  6. Select the operator: <= (less or equal) and type 2048.

  7. Click Continue to see the Dynamic Group Template Summary. Click Finish to create the Dynamic Group Template.

 


Desktop computers

To create a Dynamic Group Template that includes only desktop computers:

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.

  2. In ESET PROTECT click More Dynamic Group TemplatesNew Template.

  3. In the Basic section, type a Name. Optionally, enter a Description for the new Dynamic Group Template.

  4. Click Expression, click Operation dropdown and select AND (All conditions have to be true). Click Add Rule.

  5. Expand HW inventory/Chassis, select Type and then click OK.

  6. Select the operator: is one of. Click the default value, select Desktop, and then click Add. Repeat for Expansion chassis, Low profile desktop, Mini tower, Tower, Sealed - Case PC.

  7. Click Continue to see the Dynamic Group Template Summary. Click Finish to create the Dynamic Group Template.

 


Laptop computers

To create a Dynamic Group Template that includes only laptop computers:

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.

  2. In ESET PROTECT click More Dynamic Group Templates →  New Template.

  3. In the Basic section, type a Name. Optionally, enter a Description for the new Dynamic Group Template.

  4. Click Expression, click Operation dropdown and select AND (All conditions have to be true). Click Add Rule.

  5. Expand HW inventory/Chassis, select Type and then click OK.

  6. Select the operator: is one of. Click the default value, select: Laptop, and then click Add. Repeat for Notebook, Portable, Sub notebook.

  7. Click Continue to see the Dynamic Group Template Summary. Click Finish to create the Dynamic Group Template.

 


Computers with ESET Enterprise Inspector Agent installed

To create a Dynamic Group Template that includes only computers with installed ESET Enterprise Inspector Agent:

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.

  2. In ESET PROTECT click More → Dynamic Group Templates →  New Template.

  3. In the Basic section, type a Name. Optionally, enter a Description for the new Dynamic Group Template.

  4. Click Expression, click Operation dropdown and select AND (All conditions have to be true). Click Add Rule.

  5. Expand Installed software, select Application name and then click OK.

  1. Select the operator: is one of and type ESET Enterprise Inspector Agent.

  2. Click Continue to see the Dynamic Group Template Summary. Click Finish to create the Dynamic Group Template.

 


Computers activated with ESET Dynamic Threat Defense license

To create a Dynamic Group Template that includes only computers activated with EDTD license:

  1. Open the ESET PROTECT Web Console in your web browser and log in.

  2. In ESET PROTECT click More → Dynamic Group Templates →  New Template.

  3. In the Basic section, type a Name. Optionally, enter a Description for the new Dynamic Group Template.

  5. Expand Activation, select License product name and then click OK.
