If you are going to migrate your existing ESET Remote Administrator 6.x to the latest version of ESET Security Management Center 7.x, and are still using ESET Server Security products (version 6.4 or earlier) that are in Basic Support, make sure to follow one of the migration scenarios below. Otherwise, you will not be able to remotely manage your older ESET Server Security products.
To avoid interruption in remote management, we highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of ESET Server Security products before migrating your ESET Remote Administrator to ESET Security Management Center (ESMC).
Although we do not recommended it, there is a workaround that would enable you to use old ESET Server Security products that are in Basic Support (version 6.4 or earlier) in conjunction with the latest ESET Security Management Center 7.x.
While you are performing manual migration to ESET Security Management Center 7.x, be extremely careful not to upgrade the existing ERA Agent (6.x) on the server that runs old ESET Server Security product (version 6.4 or earlier). If the ERA Agent (6.x) gets upgraded to a newer version, even if accidentally, remote management with that particular server will no longer be possible. This concerns only machines with old ESET Server Security products. You can use newer ESMC Agent (7.x) on the rest of computers.
