Pre-release updates are updates that have been thoroughly tested and will be released soon. Enabling pre-release updates gives access to the most recent detection methods and fixes; however, pre-release updates might not be stable enough at all times, so you should always revert to using normal updates when an issue is resolved.


Solution

Enable pre-release update

  1. Open ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (ERA Web Console) in your web browser and log in.

  2. Click Admin → Policies.

  3. Select the policy for clients you want to enable pre-release updates on, click the arrow next to Policies and select Edit.

  1. Click Update, expand Profiles Basic and select Pre-release update from the Update type drop-down menu.

  2. Click Finish. Policy changes will be applied to clients the next time that they check in to ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) Server.

Enable Pre-release Updates on an Individual Client Workstation

  1. Open the main program window of your Windows ESET product.

  2. Press the F5 key on your keyboard to open Advanced setup.

  3. Click Update, expand Profiles → Basic and select Pre-release update from the Update type drop-down menu.

  4. Click OK to save your changes.
