Your VM must have a public DNS record

Your VM must have a public DNS record or fixed public IP address. Failure to use a public DNS or fixed IP can prevent your endpoints from connecting to the ESET Security Management Center.

  1. Download the RDP file and connect to your VM.
  2. After connecting to your VM, ESET Security Management Center Setup will appear. Choose a Language for ESET Security Management Center and click Next to continue the installation.
    Install later

If you accidentally closed the setup window, or you want to install later, run the installation from Command Prompt using the following command:
    C:\EsetSetup\Setup.exe --mode azure

  1. Review the End-user license agreement and click Next.

  2. Click Install.

  1. Click Next to set up a database connection.

  2. Type a strong password you will use to log into Web Console and server (required when deploying ESMC Agents) into the Password and Confirm Password fields. Make sure to record this password — you will need to use it later — and then click Next.

  1. Create a Certificate Authority for ESET Security Management Center. Optionally, specify additional information about the certificate (this is not mandatory). You can type your name or your server hostname (for example yourCustomName.westus.cloudapp.azure.com) to the Authority common name field. You can leave the Authority password field empty. However, if you choose to type or copy/paste in a password, be sure to remember it. Click Next.

Opening ESET Security Management Center Web Console remotely

Web Console can be accessed from anywhere using the IP address, or if you have purchased an Azure DNS entry, its DNS address associated with your web ESMC Server URL (for example, https://yourCustomName.westus.cloudapp.azure.com/era/).

A self-signed certificate may not be accepted by your web browser so you will need to add an exception for this SSL certificate.

If you want to use your own trusted certificate, or a certificate signed by any CA, follow the instructions from the article below:

  1. When you are able to log in to ESMC Web Console with the password you created in step 12, ESET Security Management Center is installed successfully. See Getting to know ESMC Web Console for instructions to begin using ESMC.
