[KB5717] Import policies from version 5.x endpoint products into ESET Remote Administrator (6.2 and later)

Issue

ESET business product no longer supported

This article applies to an ESET product version that is currently in End of Life status and is no longer supported. The content in this article is no longer updated.

Upgrade ESET business products.

  • You manage version 5.x endpoint products from ESET Remote Administrator 6 and want to import the policy configurations from those client workstations

Solution

ESET Endpoint Security and ESET Endpoint Antivirus only

This article is only for ESET Endpoint Security and ESET Endpoint Antivirus—these steps will not work for ESET File Security for Microsoft Exchange Server. 

  1. Open ESET Remote Administrator Web Console (ERA Web Console) in your web browser and log in.

  2. Click Computers, click a computer running ESET Endpoint Security or ESET Endpoint Antivirus 5, and then select Details from the context menu.

  3. Click Configuration, select Security product from the Select Configuration drop-down menu and then click Convert to policy.

    If greyed out

    If these options are greyed out or unavailable, click Request Configuration and wait for the client to check in with its configuration.

  4. Type a name for the policy into the Name field.

  5. Expand Assign and click Assign.

  6. Select the check box(es) next to the client computer(s) you want this policy applied to and click OK.

  7. Click Finish
