This advisory reviews the most important module updates released by ESET in February 2025.
Firewall module 1452
- Released on February 3, 2025
- Restart is no longer required if a license change activates/deactivates the firewall
- Improved the naming of threats from IDS and Network protection modules
- Fixed a bug that caused certificate-based rules to apply on processes with untrusted signatures
- Fixed a possible memory leak and a possible BSOD
Browser protection module 1376
- Released on February 19, 2025
- Prevents pasting of bank account number into the Secured browser if a clipboard data swap is detected
- Added support for Google Chrome 133 and Microsoft Edge 133 in Script scanner
Advanced heuristics module 1231.1
- Released on February 20, 2025
- Fixed a crash that could occur when scanning non-local sources (network, USB…)
