Solution

  1. Uninstall ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 6.x
  2. Install ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 9

Existing customers with a valid business license for ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server may upgrade to the latest version of the same product for free.

Before upgrading to ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 8.x and later

I. Uninstall ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 6.x

  1. Open the main program window of ESET Windows products

  2. Restart the Exchange server.

  3. Uninstall ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 6.x.

Errors during the installation

If you encounter errors when uninstalling ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 6.x using ESET PROTECT, uninstall ESET manually using the ESET uninstaller tool.

  1. Restart the server after uninstalling ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server. Continue to Part II below to install the latest version of ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server. 

II. Install ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 9.x

  1. Download ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server version 9.

  2. When the download is complete, double-click the installer file to launch the ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server installer.

  3. Select the preferred language from the Product language drop-down menu and click Next.

  1. Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.

  2. Select Complete and click Next.

  3. Click Browse to change the folders for installation if needed. Click Install.

  4. Click Finish.

  5. Wait for the installation to finish and click Use a purchased License Key.

  1. Type or copy-paste your License Key issued by ESET in the respective field and click Continue. If you do not have your License Key, request your license information to send to you.

  1. The dialog window shows Activation was successful. Click Done.

  1. Click Enable to enable Detection of potentially unwanted applications, click Allow (recommended) if you want to participate in the ESET LiveGrid feedback system and click OK.
