How do I know my ESET Windows home product is updating correctly?

  • Verify that the latest product modules and virus signatures have been received

The current Version of virus signature database is: 15498 released on May 30, 2017. To check which version of a specific module is in place in your ESET product, see Access information about product modules in ESET Windows home products.
 

This article applies to the following products:

  • ESET NOD32 Antivirus
  • ESET Internet Security
  • ESET Smart Security
  • ESET Smart Security Premium

Details

By default, ESET products check every hour for a new update and are updated at least once a day with new virus definitions and program component updates.

The following procedure will allow you to check for the latest program modules and virus signature database updates in any ESET Windows home product. Older product versions may not resemble the screenshots below.

The current Version of virus signature database is: 15498 released on May 30, 2017

  1. Open your Windows ESET product. How do I open my ESET product?
     
  2. Click Update.

    If you see Virus signature database is up to date, no update is necessary.

    If Virus signature database is up to date is not displayed, click Update now.
