Migrate from ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server 6 to version 7

Issue

Uninstall EFSW 6 before upgrading to EFSW 7

We recommend uninstalling ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server (EFSW) 6 prior to upgrading to version 7 as installing over the existing EFSW may result in a blue screen error (BSOD).

Solution

Before you migrate from EFSW version 6:

  • Verify all Windows Updates are up-to-date (no pending updates), otherwise this might cause the migration to fail. Visit this Knowledgebase article for more details.
