Version 6 of ESET Remote Administrator (ERA) and ESET business products were released in North America December 11th, 2014, and globally February 25th, 2015. Web control is used primarily for regulating the web content that can be accessed by client workstations in a company network

Solution

If you do not use ESET Remote Administrator to manage your network

Perform these steps on individual client workstations.

Enable / disable Web control using Policy Manager

Disabled by default

By default, Web control is disabled on client workstations that are managed by ESET Remote Administrator.

  1. Open the ESET Remote Administrator Console by clicking Start → All ProgramsESET → ESET Remote Administrator ConsoleESET Remote Administrator Console.

  2. Click ToolsPolicy Manager. In the Policy Manager window select the policy you want to modify and click Edit.

  1. Expand Windows desktop v5 → Web ControlSettings (see Figure 1-2).
  1. Click System integration: No and select the check box next to Yes/No.

  2. Click ConsoleYes to save your changes. These changes will be applied to client workstations the next time they check in to ESET Remote Administrator.

Enable / disable Web control on an individual client workstation

  1. Open ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus. How do I open my ESET product?

  2. Press the F5 key on your keyboard to access the Advanced setup window.

  3. Expand Web and email, click Web control and then select the check box next to Integrate into system. Click OK to save your changes.
