Password protection

By default, the Parental Control password you choose to protect your Parental Control settings will also be the program settings password in your ESET product.

If you do not use Parental Control, configure a settings password without enabling Parental Control.

Before configuring ESET Parental Control

Windows user accounts must be available for each person accessing the computer. Without completing this important step, Parental Control is ineffective in shielding children from inappropriate web content.

  1. Set up Windows user accounts for each person accessing the computer. For information on setting up Windows user accounts, click the appropriate link below:
  2. Open your Windows ESET product.
  3. Click Setup.
  4. Click Security tools.

Version 8.x and earlier: Click Setup → Parental Control, click Set password and then skip to step 7.
  5. Verify Parental control is enabled and click the arrow next to Parental Control.
