New version has been released

A newer version of ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus has been released. We highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version:

  • How do I upgrade to the latest version?
  • Remember: ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus home editions are not suitable for use with ESET server products (such as ESET Remote Administrator).

A Program Component Upgrade (PCU) has been released for all English-language version 3 ESET security products, automatically upgrading them to the latest build, version 3.0.695. The upgrade began February 22, 2010 with versions in other languages to follow. ESET recommends automatically upgrading your ESET security product to version 3.0.695. To upgrade to this latest version, follow the steps below:

A red ESET icon displayed after successful Program component upgrade (as shown in figure 1-1) is caused by running the PCU on a machine with older version of virus signature database. The functionality and upgrade of the product are not affected by the red icon. You can run the Virus signature database update manually (by clicking on a link Update the virus signature database again) or wait until your ESET security product connects to the update servers and downloads the latest virus signature database automatically. Your ESET security product icon will then return to its normal color.
